During the race weekend in Macau WTCC pilots commented on the talk of the imminent merger of the championship with TCR international series.
As a recognized champion 2012 Rob Huff, world Touring needs stability, which can give more affordable technical regulations, but to him personally it would be a pity if the cars Super 2000 TC1 will go down in history.
“The starting field is 30 equal to the speed of the machines.” Riders on the merger of the WTCC and TCR
“In my opinion, this technique is tremendous, a real Touring car, which here in Macau, eight seconds faster than TCR – quoted by Huff publishing TouringCarTimes. But on the other hand, our League needs stability, and the concept of TCR will provide just that.”
For Norbert Michelis the theme of bringing the WTCC and TCR stands alone, because in the world turinge Hungarian fighting for the championship and the international series is the owner of the team M1RA who won in 2017 the team standings.
“This is a very difficult question for me, – said Michelis. – I am very proud of winning M1RA in TCR. I do not exclude that will speak for your team but don’t know if it will happen next year or later. For both parties in this decision have their pros and cons.”
Championship leader thed björk and refused to comment, explaining that I’m only focused on the battle for the title.
“While this is only speculation, – said the Swede. – I concentrated on the stage in Qatar, and what will happen next, view and discuss after the season”.
