Sebastien Ogier leads the Rally Monte Carlo, but Ott Tanak next
On Friday, crews had the double passage of three special stages – a total of 145 km of mountain roads. The constant changing road conditions in the mountains and slow crews, who had to overtake directly into the special stages, did not prevent the crew of the Arctic Energy World Rally Team to show good result and to play a number of positions. In the end, the day finished in 12th place in class and 41st overall.
“I’m not happy with the result. We had to overtake three or four slow crew on each special stage. Some immediately we noticed in the mirrors, and we lost a lot of time overtaking, commented Iocus. – We helped our crew scout. They drove through the special stage to the sports cars and gave us valuable information: where good traction where slippery, where dirt. In some turns we specially reduced rate, so as not to risk it. On Saturday we will have a more favorable starting position, will continue to increase the pace.”
