Hyundai pilot Thierry Neuville scored the victory in the final race of the season in 2017 WRC Rally Australia.
The second day of competition Thierry finished with a 20-second advantage over Jari-Matti Latvala.
In the first two Sunday special stages Latvala was able to win back from Neuville five seconds, the one before that SU was cancelled due to the rain washed roads.
However, excessive risk Jari-Matti on the final Power Stage has led to outright racer Toyota: driving the long left turn on the inner radius, he hit the wall and flew into a tree.
In turn, Thierry has managed without incident and brought the case to victory: at the finish, he won the Ott Tanaka from the M-Sport 22.5 seconds. Crash Latvala allowed to climb on the podium one more representative of the Hyundai Hayden Paddon.
“This was a hell of a race, – quotes Neuville WRC.com when he was asked about riding in the rain on Sunday. – I struggled trying to keep the car on the road, but several times was close to departure.
I knew I could go faster, but still acted wisely, because in such circumstances it is easy to lose grip and control over the car.”
World champion-2017 Sebastien Ogier with more than two minutes behind was sitting in fourth place of the final Protocol of the Rally Australia, and his partner team M-Sport, Elfyn Evans was fifth.
The second half of the top ten were Esapekka Lappi, Chris Mick, Nathan Quinn, Richie Dalton and Dean Herridge.
