The head of Citroen Racing, Yves Matton said that the participation of Chris Mick, as Andreas Mikkelsen, in the next phase, which will be held in Spain in early October, not confirmed yet.
On the starting stage of the Rally Germany last week, the Irishman made a mistake which dropped out of the fight for a good position. However, as noted Matton, this incident will not affect his future.
“While we have not discussed the composition of the Rally Catalunya. The only confirmed racer is stéphane Lefebvre, – quotes the AUTOSPORT Matton. But I’m not saying Mika won’t be at this rally. We decided to take a break and decide to 5 September. What happened with Mick in Germany does not affect our decision.
Chris admitted that he made a stupid mistake. But I must say that it was a stupid special stage. The track was so narrow that the best time showed a smaller in size machine R5 [advanced was won by Jan Kopecky in the Skoda Fabia R5]”.
Matton added that Citroen Mick in the future after the season in 2017 will depend on the decision of the head of PSA Peugeot Citroen Carlos Tavares.
