Mads Ostberg will miss the Rally Germany, to be held next weekend, according to AUTOSPORT.
Norwegian had planned to speak in the class WRC2 driving a Ford Fiesta R5, but after the incident at the stage of the ERC in Poland in early August refused to participate. Then at high speed the car Ostberg failed steering.
“It was very scary because it happened at the entrance to the high-speed rotation. The speed at the time was 180 km/h, but I managed to keep control of the car, told Mads. – Our car is two generations older than the version of the R5 in WRC2. We can in a short line to update the mechanical part, but not the software.
As long as we do not understand the situation and there is no 100% guarantee that it won’t happen again, we decided to refuse participation in the Rally Germany.”
