The Porsche driver Neil Jani was the best in the morning WEC test session at Monza.
Despite the rain, all four manufacturers have tried to test their car in unpredictable conditions.
Toyota TS050 HYBRID Kazuki Nakajima from the beginning of the session, held the first place, however, as weather conditions improved, the Porsche took the lead.
The second 919 Hybrid crew consisting of Earl Bamber was three seconds faster than yesterday’s best time Mike Conway. However, more than an hour before the end of the morning session Jani drove a lap in 1.32,020, ahead of all.
Only Brendon Hartley from the second crew of the German team could come close to Jani for 0.004 seconds.
The third and the fourth positions left for Toyota – best time Nakajima amounted to 1.32,500. The crew at number 7 Kamui Kobayashi drove a fastest lap of 1.32,549.
Private LMP1 team ByKolles did not participate in today’s tests because of technical problems.
In the category LMP2 Matthieu maxifier has surged to first place with a circle for 1.36,078. Russian Roman Rusinov with a score of 1.36,456 was second, ahead of Matthias Besha behind the wheel of Rebellion.
In the class GTE Pro Porsche is also dictated terms to: Kevin estre behind the wheel of the 911 RSR did it in 1.47,507. Frederick Makovetsky on the same car gave him just 0.005 seconds ahead of Ford driver Gary Tincknell.
The best pilot of Ferrari was Davide Rigon, who took fifth place.
The Italian manufacturer was the best in the GTE Am class thanks to Miguel Molina.
