The ninth stage of the rally-marathon “Dakar-2018”, is scheduled for January 15th, is cancelled due to bad weather conditions.
On Monday, the participants had to overcome in combat mode the 242 kilometres between the Bolivian and Argentine Topical Salty, however, as is often the case in recent years, due to heavy rains the local roads become unusable.
“The stage is cancelled – quoted by La Presse sports Director of the race Marc Coma. – At the bivouac [Tupiza] a lot of water, and tomorrow too, weather forecasters promise rains. It’s not the best conditions for the stage”.
380-kilometer special stage from Uyuni to Tupia, launched Sunday, will be held without changes in the route.
