Ex-pilot for the development of Lotus and Renault Carmen Chord believes that the girls will be easier to build a successful racing career in Formula E, and not in the Big Prizes, because of its comparative lightness.
After the demonstration race on the electric Formula E in the run-up stage in Mexico, the Spaniard said that the pilots should pay close attention to this series.
“I think girls will be easier to pilot the car of Formula E, – quotes Carmen ESPN.co.uk. – These chassis are less demanding from the point of view of physics due to the lower downforce and the presence of power steering. So Yes, it is easier. Women in F1 and F2 face the difficulties of a purely physical plane, and in the Formula E this is easier.
Not for me to advise all girls like them to be, but in my own experience I can see that it is in F1 and F2 there are serious limitations in karting, F3 and GT girls can compete with boys on equal terms.
I guess for the ladies, these limitations really matter. That is why, I think, in this series no women pilots”.
