The former head of McLaren Martin Whitmarsh will get a temporary position of Advisor to the International Federation of Motorsport (FIA), reports Crash.net.
Martin will help the FIA to develop the financial regulations of Formula 1 in the future due to the fact that Liberty Media want to limit costs in the sport, and to restructure the payment system commands.
Whitmarsh worked at McLaren from 1989 to 2014 he was the head of the team from Woking from 2009 to the end of the 2013 season. A year after leaving McLaren he became the General Director of the yacht racing team Land Rover BAR serving one of the most prestigious regattas in the world – “America’s Cup”.
In addition, recently Whitmarsh also received the post of adviser in Formula E.
