International airline holding company International Airlines Group (IAG), which owns British Airways, has confirmed the fact of purchase of the insolvent Austrian airlines, Niki.
In a statement IAG said that the amount of the transaction amounted to 36.5 million euros, of which 20 million was spent on assets Niki, and another 16.5 million will provide liquidity of the carrier.
Of the 1,000 employees will leave IAG Niki of approximately 740 employees.
Recall that Niki was founded in 2003, a three-time F1 world champion Nicky Laudau. Earlier it was reported that Lauda was interested in the purchase of these carriers.
