Non-Executive Director of Mercedes Niki Lauda believes that Red Bull Racing is excited with a large increase in wage max Verstappen on a new three-year contract.
Initially it was assumed that Verstappen was in talks about a potential transition in the Mercedes, thanks to which advisers max managed to get him a year’s salary in the amount of 25-35 million dollars. However, Lauda has denied the fact of negotiations of the German team with the Dutchman.
“Mercedes did not offer a max contract, said Nicky in the comments Servus TV. – I have a good relationship with Helmut Marko: we often fly with each other and communicate. When we talked about Verstappen, I told him that they [Red Bull] could save a lot of money, because Mercedes has never negotiated with him.”
Recently, Hellmuth admitted that the Dutchman took advantage of the favourable moment and got a pay rise.
