The new Zealand newspaper the New Zealand Herald found the pilot Toro Rosso Brendon Hartley the best racer of the country by the end of 2017.
In 2017 Brandon, who headed a rating of the top drivers of the island nation have won the legendary race “24 hours of Le Mans” in the Porsche LMP1 and the second time in his career he became the champion of the overall WEC.
In October, Hartley got a chance in the Toro Rosso F1. Despite the fact that Brandon scored no points in four races of the season-2017, he got a contract with the team for 2018.
In the ranking of the best pilots in New Zealand he left behind such famous racers as Earl Bamber (WEC), Scott Dixon (IndyCar) Richie Stanaway (Supercars) and Nick Cassidy (Super GT).
