The introduction of a system of protection of the cockpit “halo” in Formula 1 in 2018 can be put at a disadvantage heavy riders.
The FIA increased the minimum weight of the cars next season to 6 kg. However, the team calculated that the design of protection and fastening system will add even more weight – by some estimates, nearly 14 kg. In such a situation, any additional pounds will cause fit in the required regulations 734 kg teams will be very hard.
