Former Formula 1 driver Nick Heidfeld has admitted that it will be very happy if his ex-partner BMM-Sauber Robert Kubica will return after a six year break due to the injury of the right hand that pole got in the accident at rally.
“I’ll be very happy if Robert will receive a contract combat pilot. I hope he will be able to perform at the same level, – said Heidfeld in an interview with Motorsport-Magazine. – In the history of Motorsport there have been cases when the drivers were back behind the wheel after severe accidents, but were not as competitive as before. But to return to the cockpit we can’t say for sure.
As a rule, most with a strong accidents suffer confidence. But I could see Kubica at the Festival of speed at Goodwood, and I was under the impression that he feels as comfortable in the car, like before.”
