Former Ferrari President Luca di Montezemolo, Flavio Briatore, believes that a victory at the Grand Prix of Brazil would celebrate Lewis Hamilton, if not for a mistake in qualifying and start from the pit lane.
Flavio Briatore: Ferrari lost the title, to blame only the pilots
Sebastian Vettel started the race from second place on the grid. At the start the German was able to beat the winner of the pole position, Valtteri Bottas, and then four-time world champion without problems kept the Finnish pilot of the Mercedes behind her.
But di Montezemolo is confident that the outcome of arrival would have been different, if not a mistake by Hamilton in qualifying, as in training, the British showed the best pace among all.
“The Grand Prix of Brazil was a great day for all Italians. I am delighted with the victory of Ferrari. Now I hope that we will be able to perform very well in the final race of the season in Abu Dhabi, said Luke in the comments of Rai and Radio Capital. On the other hand, I believe that Brazil would have won Hamilton, if started from the pole position”
