25 April in Paris held a meeting of the Strategic group with the participation of the teams, and FIA President Jean Todt and CEO of Formula 1 chase Carey.
The discussion was formed by amendments to the technical and sporting regulations of 2018, which will now be sent for approval to the world Council of Motorsport.
Among the solutions group the following:
– Aerodynamic design like the “shark fin” and T-shaped wing will be banned in 2018.
– Measures will be taken to the engine oil not used as fuel. During the race weekend are allowed to use only one oil specifications.
Pirelli allowed to test rain tyres specifications of 2018, using the previous specifications of vehicles and wheel sizes.
– In the event of a race stop a red flag restart will be held.
– Examined a number of integrated solutions for the protection of the head of the rider and decided to give priority to the “Shield”. In preparation for implementation by 2018 the system will be tested during the season.
The team was informed that since the Grand Prix of Spain will come into effect measures aimed at more clearly show the names and numbers of the riders on the machines.
The teams that are not members of the Strategic group, is now able to attend meetings and participate in discussions. This step demonstrates the commitment of the FIA and the commercial rights owners to improve the transparency of the sport.
