Sauber racer Pascal Wehrlein has shared his expectations from the Grand Prix of Russia at Sochi Autodrom.
“Racing weekend of the Grand Prix of Russia always turns out interesting, – quotes Wehrlein press-service of the Sauber. – Sochi Autodrom is located on the Black sea coast, in the centre of the Olympic Park, what makes this Cup special.
The track itself is interesting, and I like to be there. The track is quite difficult, as it includes some technical turns. With the machines of this year, I think the speed in some areas will be very high. Besides, there are several 90-degree turns.
In General, I’m looking forward to the race in Sochi. I have fans in Russia because I took part in the DTM race in Moscow. I have left interesting drawings and dolls. Looking forward to get back behind the wheel in Sochi.”
The partner of German team-mate Marcus Eriksson added: “the Race in Russia always turns out interesting. I like to play there. The track differs from all others because it is among the Olympic objects and buildings, which is very impressive.
The track is also quite interesting. The most difficult part is the third sector, as it is quite technical.
I look forward to the Grand Prix of Russia. I hope the Russian fans will get pleasure from the race. We will do our best to have a great show.”
