The former head of management F1 Bernie Ecclestone has shared his forecast for the season 2017.
Despite the fact that Sebastian Vettel of Ferrari have won two of their opening three Grand Prix of the new campaign, Bernie still puts on the success of his compatriot Lewis Hamilton, representing Mercedes.
“Lewis will be world champion, said Bernie in an interview with Bild am Sonntag. I would be happy if the title had been won by [Sebastian] Vettel, because he is a good friend of mine. However, the current situation will change.
Lewis Hamilton is a talented driver. This year he appears more relaxed, enjoying their performances in F1.
The fact that in recent years, he has always believed that the team [Mercedes] does not support it, because on the other side of the garage there was a German pilot in the German team.
Of course, his assumptions were absolute nonsense. But now this obsession had left him, and the pressure was gone.
Well, Mercedes will be happy to see Hamilton as world champion, if you remember what it experienced last year.”
