Honda pilot Tiago Monteiro will be forced to miss the eighth stage of the season-2017 WTCC in Motegi, on the recommendation of doctors.
In early September, the Portuguese was involved in a serious accident on the tests in Barcelona, which received damage to the neck ligaments and intervertebral joints.
Tiago did not manage to overcome the consequences of the accident to the stage in the Chinese city of Ningbo and was hoping to get back on track already in Motegi.
However, according to the results of the medical examination the physicians recommended the ex-pilot F1 to refrain from participating in competitions in Japan.
In China Monteiro in the Honda lineup was replaced by Gabriele Tarquini, but the Italian will not be able to play for a Japanese team in Motegi for the reason that will be busy in the program Hyundai TCR.
Recall that in the overall WTCC Monteiro takes second place, behind only 0.5 points Ted Bjork from Volvo.
