The organizers of the world Touring abandoned plans to launch a Junior class WTCC-2 in the season 2017, according to AUTOSPORT.
After the withdrawal of citroën Racing and Lada Sport at the end of the championship last year raised concerns about a possible shortage of participants. As a result, the meeting of the world Council of FIA Motorsport in November was ratified plans to create a category based on the car TCN2. Ultimately, however, it was decided to refuse them.

“Proposed category WTCC-2, which was announced at a meeting of the world Council of Motorsport November 30, 2016, was excluded from plans for the season 2017, said in a statement the FIA. – This was done in order to allow the Fee for the Tour and the promoter fully focus on the core category [TC1] in 2017”.
Also following the meeting, the WMSC confirmed that the stage in Termas de río Hondo postponed for three weeks on July 15-16 and the Chinese stage will move from Shanghai to Ningbo.
