Today at the meeting of the world Council of FIA Motorsport approved the calendar of the world Touring for the next year.
Major change worth noting is the return to the calendar WTCC Macau after an absence of two years and the addition of the Italian Monza.
Originally, the calendar was scheduled 12 stages, however, approved version, there are only ten.
In exchange for the legendary Monza championship lost stages in Slovakia, Russia and France. The latter two changes can be somehow connected with the departure of the championship of manufacturers Lada and Citroen.
France returned to the calendar in 2014, WTCC three years in a row came on the track name Paul Ricard in Le Castellet, while the stage in Bratislava were included in 2012.
Stage of the WTCC at Moscow Raceway was first held in 2013, but this year the suburban route was to replace the Sochi autodrom. In the end Russia got no stage of the world Touring.
Italian Monza will return to the calendar of the championship after three years of absence.
As for Macau, on this street circuit was attended by WTCC for ten years, and the last time the stage was held there in 2014 – in the first year of the introduction of the regulations TC1. But then the season finale moved to Qatar. I must say that in the upcoming season, the last stage will also be held in Qatar and Macau, the riders will arrive at one point before.
