The crew of the Russian team Arctic Energy World Rally Team finished fifth in class and 23rd in the overall standings of Rallye Monte-Carlo, first round of the world championship WRC 2018.

The final day offered the participants a double pass of two special stages with a total length of 65 km the First of the special stages were built through the legendary Col de Turini. And that’s at the top of the pass was not without silly mistakes. In one of the turns the car Deividas Yozuca skidded, the rear left wheel hit a rock. The result changed the camber angle of the wheels, the car has become worse to handle. After the finish of the stage the resourceful crew found a knife between the hub and the rear axle, so a little aligning the toe-in. Even on difficult to manage the car, the Lithuanians managed at all stages of the final day of the rally to finish in the top 5 in its class.
“I am happy to finish this rally – said Deividas Jocius. – Unfortunately, we were not able to fight for the podium due to technical problems the first day and my mistake on the fourth day. But we got a lot of experience that will be useful to us in the next stages»
The owner of Arctic Energy World Rally Team Sergey Egorov added: “I am delighted that we have successfully started our new sports program in the world rally championship. The main tasks for the first phase were as follows: first, to declare the new Russian team Arctic Energy WRT, and secondly, to develop the interaction within the team in all areas – technical support, logistics, media services. Now we know what points need to pay attention, and be sure to take this into consideration when preparing for Rally Sweden”.
Rally Sweden, the only full-fledged winter competition in the WRC calendar, will be held from 15 to 18 February.
