Citroen driver Kris Meeke has consolidated its leadership in the staging table of the Rally Spain after the passage of the morning stages of the final day of competition.
Meeke was fastest on all three SU, and managed to increase a separation from the nearest pursuer to 23.9 seconds. In second place in the Protocol is Sebastien Ogier, who is ahead of his teammate M-Sport Ott Tanaka 1.8 seconds.
Failure on the 16th SU befell the Hyundai pilot Thierry Neuville: at its i20, the Belgian hit a rock, causing the car suffered serious damage in the area of steering. Note that as a result of similar raids on big rocks a day earlier to stop fighting his teammates Andreas Mikkelsen and Dani Sordo.
Neville stopped the fight, although the interim Protocol is still listed on the fifth place. In fourth place is the Toyota representative Juho Hanninen.
