Newcomer Hyundai Andreas Mikkelsen takes the first place in the opening three special stages of the Rally Spain.
On the first and second SU, the Norwegian was sixth, but a magnificent third SU brought him the lead.
“The morning competition went well for us – quoted AUTOSPORT.com Mikkelsen. – Before a long period, I made some adjustments to his machine, and it helped. I got better and better feel the car.”
Andreas just 0.6 seconds ahead of his compatriot Mads Ostberg in a private Ford Fiesta.
The overall leader of the season-2017 Sebastien Ogier is in third place with a four-second behind Mikkelsen.
Partner Ogier and M-Sport’s Ott Tanak is fourth, and the intermediate fifth is Kris Meeke of Citroen.
The second half of the top ten are Dani Sordo, Thierry Neuville, who was having problems with excessive wear of the soft Michelin tires, Jari-Matti Latvala, Juho Hanninen and Elfyn Evans.
