Thierry Neuville is not abandoning hopes for victory in the championship, despite a serious loss of points on the last Rally Germany.
Before the start of the German stage racer, Hyundai had shared the first place of the overall standings with reigning champion Sebastien Ogier after the first day ahead of the Frenchman in the battle for third place. However, breakage of the suspension on Saturday put paid to his chances single-handedly lead the championship, while Ogier finished on the podium and scored 17 points.
“I’m not going to give up and will fight to the end, – quotes the official website of Neuville WRC. – I am confident that we will succeed and maybe win one or two stages. So nothing is solved.
I know that I can regain the lead from Ogier. But much will depend on its results. In the remaining three rally he, too, may encounter problems: punctured tire, make a mistake. To happen anything”.
