Stephane Sarrazin, who plays in the WEC in the Toyota LMP1 and Formula E Venturi, organized his own rally team Motorsport Sarrazin, which on the Skoda Fabia R5, will take part in the WRC Rally of Corsica this week.
“I’ve been thinking about how to create your own team, – quotes AUTOSPORT.com 41-year-old Frenchman, who in the mid-2000s was part of the factory team Subaru in the WRC program. I was waiting for the opportune moment and now feel that the time has come.
Throughout my racing career I have gained vast experience not only in racing but also in development programmes, which involved close cooperation with the manufacturers.
My latest appearance on the rally competitions intensified this desire [create a team]. Of course, I compared the race on the track with rally. I found that I prefer more rally, because here I feel the most prepared.
From Sarrazin Motorsport has everything you need: all around me are great people and reliable partners. This will allow us to support young riders in their development and desire to win.
I do not exclude that someday we will begin to compete on the ring. We are open to all options and crave evolve over time. We will grow gradually.
This is an important moment in my career: program Toyota LMP1 remains my priority as well as performances in the Formula to the Venturi, but I know I can combine two programs and it is great. 2017 will be promising.”
Sarrazin won the Rally of Corsica in ERC in 2014.
“It will be great to start a speech at the Rally of Corsica. This is a clear demonstration of the ambition of the team – continued the Frenchman. – I’ve already won on these roads. Those memories are very precious to me.”
