Car Evans DMACK Ford Fiiesta stopped after the third passage of Llano Grande for not yet known reason.
The Welshman, however, remained seventh on the results of the shakedown, and a five-minute penalty will be added to the time of the first special stage of the Rally Mexico.
“We don’t know what happened, Evans quoted in AUTOSPORT. – The engine just stopped working and when it tried to start, the cylinders had no compression.
I was really upset. We arrived in Mexico with the hope of getting into the top 5, and now that’s not gonna happen. May we have the sense to change strategy and try to set the best time on Friday – it’s our only hope.”
