Mads Ostberg will spend most of the stages in the season-2017 driving a private car M-Sport Ford Fiesta, according to AUTOSPORT.
The Norwegian, who lost his place in the first team Malcolm Wilson, will be playing in the same team along with Martin Prokop.
Due to the lack of car Ostberg will have to miss the first race of the season, which will be held in Monte-Carlo from 18-22 January, but the next stage in Sweden he will perform at Ford Fiesta new specifications.
“We look forward to the upcoming season – said the father of the Norwegian rider Morten. – In Sweden, Mads sit behind the wheel of M-Sport Ford, and now we can confirm this.
He has twice tested a new car, but Rally Sweden will hold more tests.
Our plan is to repeat what we did in 2011 and 2012 when I worked in a team Adapta, with the support of M-Sport.
It seems that this year, working with a team of Martin Prokop, we will be even more independent.”
It is worth noting that over the past six years Ostberg five times finished on the podium on Rally Sweden.
