Manual Hyundai Motorsport has decided to withdraw from Rally Monte Carlo of Hayden Paddon after yesterday’s incident on the first stage.
Hayden lost control of the Hyundai i20 WRC Coupe in one of the turns. On ice, the car skidded on the outside radius, with the result that she fell on a rock and rolled onto the roof.
Neither Hayden nor his co-driver John Kennard was hurt, but the car hit the fan, received a fatal injury.

“We are saddened by the death of a fan, – said the head of Hyundai WRC Michel Nandan. Out of respect for the deceased, we have decided to withdraw from the competition car No. 4 under the baton of Hayden and John.
Now our thoughts are with the family and friends of the deceased. Our condolences”.
“I am saddened by this incident. I now all thoughts are with the family and friends of a fan, said Paddon. – The machine has not received serious damages. It’s a shame for a team that has made so much effort, so we came here”.
Other Hyundai pilot Dani Sordo and Thierry Neuville, who heads an interim Protocol to continue the fight on Rallye Monte-Carlo.
