Stephane Sarrazin will hold supersize FIA WEC at the wheel of the Russian prototype BR1 in the crew SMP Racing. The Frenchman will perform in one of the Russian crews in the world Championship on races on endurance for the BR1 prototype category, LMP1.
Stefan had huge performances in endurance races. Only in the marathon “24 hours of Le Mans” the Frenchman played 16 times. The last six years, the pilot went to endurance racing for the Toyota team, and also participated in Formula E and rally Championships.

Is a truly versatile combat pilot, who will drive his 17th and 18th marathons in Le Mans under the Russian flag. I am sure that the invaluable experience gained by Stephen in the Toyota, desperately fighting for absolute championship not one year, will be helping us in the debut in the LMP1 category in the Russian prototype of BR Engineering. The first results of teamwork we will be able to assess after only three weeks, during tests in France.”

SMP Racing will take part in the FIA WEC with two crews, acting on the prototypes BR1, developed by BR Engineering. The full composition will be announced later. At present participation is confirmed pilots SMP Racing Vitaly Petrov, Mikhail Aleshin and Stephane Sarrazin. In the marathon “24 hours of Le Mans” in the LMP2 category will attend another car SMP Racing, the main pilot of which will be Victor Shaitar, who will also spend the season in the ELMS.
