The organizers of the world championship on races on endurance confirmed the change of dates of the race “6 hours of Fuji” in Superstone, which kicks off on may 5 at Spa and will end at Le Mans in June 2019.
Originally a six-hour marathon on the track at the foot of mount Fuji was planned to be held on October 21. But after it was announced the participation of Fernando Alonso in the championship, there was speculation that Toyota, which owns the racetrack, wants to move the race to avoid crossing with the United States Grand Prix Formula 1.
Now confirmed officially that the Japanese phase of the WEC will take place on 14 October. This means that in the season of 2018 Fernando Alonso will spend 21 race in Formula 1 and five in WEC. Since the end of September, and in fact until the last of November, waiting for his series of eight races in nine weeks! In the summer he will spend seven stages over eight weeks, and in late spring and early autumn will pass through three races without a break.
