Roman Rusinov commented on the performance of the Russian team G-Drive Racing in the penultimate race of the season-2017 WEC in Shanghai.
On the basis of qualifications G-Drive Racing has won the second starting position in the LMP2 class, however, several incidents during a six-hour marathon did not allow the crew No. 26 to rise above the seventh place.
Brendon Hartley and the Porsche ahead won the championship WEC 2017
“Bad luck for our crew continues, said Rusinov. – We again had the speed to fight for victory. We got along very well with my new partners, léo Roussel and Nico Muller. But, alas, the race went awry from the beginning when the fault of one of the contenders we rolled back.
However, we did not quit fighting, and made several beautiful overtaking and once again demonstrated their fighting spirit. However, after the second collision time to recoup already was too small”.
After eight stages of the WEC, the Russian team took fourth place in the overall standings.
The ninth and final round of the season-2017 will be held in two weeks in Bahrain. G-Drive Racing at Sakhir will present Rusyns, Roussel and Loic Duval.
