The pilot of the Ganassi IndyCar Tony Kanaan will replace the injured Sebastian Bourdais in the team Ford Chip Ganassi Team USA in the legendary race “24 hours of Le Mans,” according to AUTOSPORT.com.
The winner of the “Indianapolis 500” in 2013 will share the car # 68 with Joey Hand and Dirk Muller, with whom Bourdais celebrated a victory in GTE Pro on the ring Sarta last year.
42-year-old Kanaan, for which it will debut at Le Mans, said: “I am honored to be included in the Chip Ganassi Ford. I had been scheduled to participate in this race.
Of course, I got this chance as a result of bad circumstances-namely, injuries of Sebastian, but I will do my best to best to replace it and help the team again to win this terrific competition.”
In the next weekend, Tony will perform on the stage of the series IndyCar in Detroit and will miss the official test at Le Mans. However, he is still permitted to take part in the race for the quota “platinum” pilot.
