Former racer in the sports car Peugeot’s Nicolas Minassian was appointed the sporting Director of the American team DragonSpeed in LMP2, according to AUTOSPORT.
44-year-old Frenchman will work with the pilots and use his connections in Motorsport for business development. However, he will also be reserve driver at the team.
In the upcoming season, DragonSpeed will cooperate with the Russian team G-Drive Racing, with the assistance of which will put a second car in the “24 hours of Le Mans” and in the six races of the ELMS.
“Working with racing teams will allow me to contribute in several ways, – quotes AUTOSPORT Minassian. I like to work with pilots to develop and also like to work with Elton [Julian, the owner of the team] in the preparation of the second machine G-Drive in the past year.”
For the last three seasons were Minassian for SMP Racing in the LMP2. A total of 17 times, the Frenchman took to the start “24 hours of Le Mans”, and his best achievement was second place in 2008, when he piloted a prototype Peugeot 908 HDi.
