The Toyota LMP1 team put three cars in the legendary daily marathon “24 hours of Le Mans-2017”.
The Japanese manufacturer intends to take revenge for last year’s setback when six minutes before the checkered flag on TS050 Hybrid crew Sebastien Buemi/Anthony Davidson/Kazuki Nakajima have been offensive failure that led to the loss of leadership and immediately.
In preparation for the race at Le Mans Toyota will put a third updated TS050 LMP1 at the stage of the WEC in Spa.
The first crew Buemi/Davidson/Nakajima will remain unchanged. In the second crew, along with Mike Conway and Kamui Kobayashi will be the three-time WTCC champion Jose Maria Lopez.
Additional crew will be Stephane Sarrazin. The names of his two teammates will be announced later.
In a statement Toyota said: “the Team evaluates the options for the two vacant seats. The decision will be made in the near future.”
The President of Toyota Gazoo Racing Toshio Sato said: “Three cars in Le Mans is a new challenge for our team. We work hard in order to win.”
As for Lopez, then it is Toyota signed a contract after numerous tests-2016 technology in LMP1.
In parallel with the program WEC 33-year-old Argentinian will compete in Formula E in the DS Virgin Racing.

Toyota will present its specification-2017 TS050 in Monza on March 31 before a two-day official WEC test.
