Lucas di Grassi said in an interview AUTOSPORT.com that, despite the departure of the Audi WEC LMP1, he still intends to perform in the iconic race “24 hours of Le Mans.”
“I’m only interested in two categories: LMP1 and GTE Pro, so I most likely will be in one of them,” said di Grassi.
The Brazilian two options: either the third crew Toyota in LMP1 or GTE Porsche, since their composition is not fully staffed.
Yet the Japanese team has confirmed only stéphane Sarrazin, however, as found in AUTOSPORT.com the team intends to put behind the wheel of the PE Hirakawa.
It is known that Audi and Toyota have already held talks among themselves over di Grassi.
“The contract Lucas are some restrictions, – said the head of Audi Motorsport Dieter Gass. – It would be easier to allow him to speak in private, not in the factory team. In addition, we assessed the level of competition because they do not wish that he played for our rivals”.
Gass added that because di Grassi now two active contracts: one with the Audi in the WEC, and the other Audi/Abt in Formula E, the manufacturer is trying to unite them.
Also di Grassi Audi may present this year at the Macau Grand Prix.
