Racer factory team Ferrari AF Corse in the WEC in class GRE Pro Gianmaria Bruni will be forced to miss the entire upcoming season of world Cup racing endurance due to the termination of the contract with Ferrari and signing the agreement with Porsche.
Bruni argued for AF Corse at the start of the championship in 2012, winning in 2013 and 2014 the titles in his class.
However, the rider has long sought ways to negotiate with Ferrari to terminate her long-term cooperation, to begin work in returning in the GTE Pro class with their Porsche 911 RSR car.
After several weeks of controversy Ferrari, and Bruni was finally able to negotiate, and an official confirmation is expected to be published on Sunday evening together with the announcement of the beginning of Bruni cooperation with Porsche.
According to AUTOSPORT.com Ferrari demanded that Bruni went on forced leave for the whole season. However, the driver will be able to participate in the tests of the 911 RSR, as well as in the American IMSA championship.
Instead Bruni Porsche can join Richard Litza, Michael Christensen and frédéric Makowiecki Romain Dumas or Sven müller.
It is still unknown who will replace Bruni in the Ferrari. The team are a match made in Vallelunga between McLaren protege Nick de Vries, Audi DTM racer Miguel Molina, Alessandro pier Guidi and Alex Ibercom.
So far, among the main contenders for a place in the crew of James Calado are Nick de Vries and Miguel Molina, but the final decision can be made in favour of anyone – not only those who participated in the contest.
