In the new season, the Russian team G-Drive Racing will speak on the latest prototype, with a new technical partner and a new squad of pilots.
In 2017 the team G-Drive Racing, acting with the support of premium fuel G-Drive “Gazprom Neft” will participate in all nine stages of the world championship FIA WEC, including the legendary daily marathon “24 hours of Le Mans.”
Season G-Drive Racing will start built in accordance with the changed technical regulations of the LMP2 class of the newest racing prototype Oreca 07 Gibson with the engine V8, whose power is approximately 150 horsepower exceeds last year’s motor.
Driving the car No. 26 will continue to be the Russian Roman Rusinov. In the upcoming season, to be joined on the rookie team, the Frenchman Pierre Tire, who had the title in the ELMS and second place in the “24 hours of Le Mans”.
The name of the third rider of the crew will be named later – at the moment negotiations are underway with several pilots with experience in F1.
Technical partner G-Drive Racing in the new season is the team TDS Racing. He has more than ten years of participation in automotive competitions in the international arena, including endurance racing.
For G-Drive Racing’s forthcoming season will be the fifth in the FIA WEC. In four years of playing in the world championship on races on endurance, the Russian team has won 15 races. For the LMP2 class is a record.
In 2015 G-Drive Racing won the title and finished last season with a bronze medal, scoring three brilliant victories in the final three races of the championship.
The world championship on races on endurance in 2017 will start on April 16 in the British Silverstone. Two weeks before that in the Italian Monza will be the so-called the prologue – the collective preseason tests of participants of the coming championship FIA WEC.
