Peugeot pilot Cyril despres celebrated victory in the second stage of “Dakar-2018” which took place near the small Peruvian town of Pisco.
Cyril headed a trio of French riders Peugeot, leaving no chances to the others. Despres ahead of stéphane Peterhansel in 48 seconds, and Sebastien Loeb 3 minutes and 8 seconds.
The fourth was Giniel de Villiers in Toyota, and the winner of the initial stage of “Dakar-2018” Nasser al-Attiyah were content with a eighth place with nearly a 15 minute gap.
Despres grabbed the lead in the General classification and is now ahead of Peterhansel at 27 seconds. The top three closes de Villiers. Loeb is fourth, and the fifth place has slipped, the former overall leader al-Attiyah.
