Nine-time world rally champion Sebastien Loeb admits that the next edition of the “Dakar” may be the last in his career, because Peugeot is planning to close its off-road program.
Last week, Loeb and his Navigator Daniel Elena tested the 3008 DKR in Morocco, and on Wednesday they will start in the six-day RAID of the rally of Morocco.
“For me, “Dakar-2018” is very important because this could be my last race here. Perhaps Peugeot will continue its program [after the marathon], but that’s unlikely, said Loeb in an interview AUTOSPORT.com. – We get more experience and try to win this year.
We know we have the speed, but on “Dakar” not only need it. You could lose your navigation, or face other problems.
We get ready to race to the maximum. We have everything to win, but to win this race extremely difficult.”
