Toyota racer Nasser al-Attiyah in fourth time in a row won the Rally of Morocco, ahead at the finish almost eight minutes, Sebastien Loeb.
From the beginning of the North African rally-RAID, the Qatari set the pace and won four of the five special stages. Only at the second stage, Loeb was able to press with his first lines and even headed the General classification, although minute penalty for speeding in the prologue.
Final day al-Attiyah started with an advantage of 6 minutes and 42 seconds, to finish which increased to 7.55.
“The rally of Morocco is the best preparation for the “Dakar” and one of the most difficult races. So very nice to win with so many wins on the special stages”, – commented on the performance of the Qatari driver.
The third step of the podium went to partner Loeb in the Peugeot’s Carlos Sainz out of the battle for victory after technical problems on the fourth day.
Another success in the international rally-RAID was noted by Sergey Karjakin. Current winner of “Dakar” playing in the car UTV Polaris, won the race in the category of T3 in an hour and a half and took 19th in the overall classification.
In the motorcycle category was won by the KTM rider Matthias Walkner.
