In Buenos Aires he finished 12-th and final stage of the rally-RAID “Dakar-2017”
On the last day the participants had to overcome the symbolic distance of 64 km. the distance traditionally went to representatives of two-wheeled category, which, consequently, first reached the capital of Argentina.
No surprises there – the overall leader Sam Sunderland finished sixth, but this result Briton is more than enough to keep the advantage in half an hour and claim his first victory on the Dakar. For KTM this triumph was already the 16th in a row, and the success of the Austrian brand has added Matthias Walkner and Gerard Farres güell, who took second and third place in the General classification.
Russian rider Alexander Ivanyutin occupied 32-e a place, and Anastasiya Nifontova made his debut Dakar rally 75th.
In the category of SUVs, the final stage was won by Sebastien Loeb. Nine-time world rally champion 19 seconds ahead of team-mate at Peugeot Sport’s stéphane Peterhansel, but given the lag in five minutes, he still remained second. However, it can be called an achievement, considering that the current “Dakar” became only the second in the career of the legendary Frenchman.
But Peterhansel was already a 13-time winner of the main rally-RAID of the planet, including seven in the category of vehicles [six times stéphane won the Dakar on a motorcycle].
The third Peugeot driver Cyril despres retained the third place in the overall standings and for the first time in his career finished on the podium in the standings SUVs.
The main event for Russian Motorsport has occurred in the remaining two categories, where participants came to finish last.

The second was another representative of the “Blue Armada” Dmitry Sotnikov. Last year’s winner of the Dakar, Gerard de Rooy finished third.
The third driver of the “KAMAZ-Master” Ayrat Mardeev finished fifth.
