The Audi driver Frank Stippler won the pole position in the qualifying races ahead of the marathon “24 hours Spa”, held in the framework of the Blancpain Endurance series.
The pilot of the second crew of the team WRT time showed 2.18,130 on the Audi R8 LMS, ahead of the main pursuer Kevin Estra of VonRyan McLaren only 0,017 seconds.
The third position in results of Friday’s races took Andrea Piccini Ferrari 458 team Kessel Racing. The owner of the pole in the Pro-Am class lost the best time of the day just 0,046 seconds.
“On Thursday we had serious problems with the car, but we still managed to find a good balance, said Stippler. – Driving a car, I felt incredible emotions. And I, and the car was great.”
Estr acting in the first crew VonRyan with Rob bell and Shane van Gisbergen, also was pleased with the results of Friday’s races.
The Frenchman damaged the car in the 11-m turn in the first session, but still managed to get in the top 20 to participate in Superpole, and today will start from the first virtual row.
“We have substantially improved the car during night qualification, – said Kevin. We decided to take a chance in Superpole and it has paid off”.
Fourth place in qualifying took Alvaro Guy – the driver of the second crew on VonRyan McLaren 650S GT3, and Maxim Sula took fifth place on the Bentley Continental GT3.
From Maxime Martin, Marc VDS, who was fastest on Thursday in the qualification, lost the best time more than half a second and was only 12th.
