Executive Director of McLaren Zach brown said that the team is open to the return of Lewis Hamilton.
It is in the team from Woking British driver made his debut in Formula 1 in 2007, and already in his second season became the champion of the world. Until 2012 Hamilton drove for McLaren, winning ten Grand Prix, but the main success was achieved with Mercedes.
“Any team would like to get Lewis, including McLaren. Fernando not against such a partner,” said brown at a media briefing.
However, the American businessman has no illusions and understands that the return of the Briton at McLaren is unlikely.
“Of course he will sign a new agreement with Mercedes – continued brown. – I think a key issue in negotiations is how much Lewis will still be in Formula 1. Hardly a problem in royalties or the prospects of the team. Apparently, he thinks he has nowhere to hurry, it still will not get anyone. He wants to see what will emerge this season. Though maybe the contract is already extended, just not yet made an official statement”.
