Engine manufacturer Cosworth is not going to return to F1 in the rank of an independent supplier of motors in the season of 2021.
Despite the fact that in F1 you want to change the regulations on the engines, the Cosworth exclude self-involvement in this project.
Managing Director Bruce wood said that Cosworth will go down in F1 only with the financial support of another company that would cover part of the costs of developing engines.
“I must say that we would like to return, – quotes the wood F1i.com. – Was the information that our company is involved in the ongoing debate [the new regulations].
But from the beginning we designated the position: we are not satisfied with the option of working on the principle “build the engines, and customers will come” in which Cosworth will be completely independent provider.
We hope to be able to create partnerships with original equipment manufacturer (OEM) who would want to enter F1 under the new regulations, which would significantly reduce the financial obligations for participation in F1″.
