The pilot of McLaren Stoffel Vandorn had a great start and drove a great first lap of the Grand Prix of Mexico.
Because of the large penalty for changing elements of the power plant Honda, and the Belgian was forced to start from the penultimate place on the grid.
However, Stoffel perfectly reacted to the starting lights and in one fell swoop managed to stay ahead of Brendon Hartley and Fernando Alonso.
In the first five turns of the race Vandorn managed to overtake Romain Grosjean, Pascal Wehrlein, Marcus Eriksson and Lewis Hamilton, who was driving the damaged car.
Thus, in the first round of GP Stoffel made his way from 19th to 13th place, and in the race finished in 12th place.
