The organizers of the Grand Prix of Australia in Melbourne refused to change the configuration of the circuit at albert Park in order to increase the number of overtaking on the track.
AUTOSPORT.com reports that Australian Grand Prix Corporation (AGPC) has considered the option to replace the bundles of quick turns 11/12 one slow rotation to give the pilots the opportunity for overtaking.
This plan would change the profile of the back straight of the circuit, which would make it longer. Accordingly, in this place were located a new zone of action DRS.
However, the current configuration of the circuit at albert Park will remain the same, at least in the short term, as AGPC is not found obvious advantages of this plan on making adjustments to the configuration of the track.
