Felipe Massa, finishing his career in Formula 1 at the end of season 2017, acknowledged he did not regret the subordination of team orders in the years of joint performances with Fernando Alonso for Ferrari.
For four years the Brazilian was in deep shade two-time world champion, and was often compelled to pass it forward. The most notorious episode occurred at the Grand Prix of Germany 2010, when Felipe gave the partner a victory.
“Probably, if I had not followed team orders, it would have done her worst. Being on the road, you need to respect the interests of the team, no matter who your teammate is Alonso or Schumacher. In any case, I have many pleasant memories about work in a Ferrari, and I have no regrets, – said Massa in an interview with Sky. Ferrari is a religion. It’s difficult to describe what it’s like to be a part of this team. I am happy that so long defended the colors”.
