World famous brand men’s fashion Hugo Boss will leave Formula 1 at the end of 2017 and is switched to the electric racing series Formula E, stated CEO mark Langer.
In 2015, the German company was one of the sponsors of the Mercedes team, and before that for many years collaborated with McLaren.
“Of course, F1 is the pinnacle of Motorsport. But the Formula E more innovative and promising, – said Langer in an interview with the weekly publication, Focus. – Races in big cities are interesting to the younger generation of viewers, which opens up new opportunities.”
As noted by the Executive Director of Hugo Boss, the cost of the sponsorship contract played no role in the decision.
“After many years spent in Formula 1 – and we came to the sport when racing Jochen Mass in the’ 70s – we started thinking about our next step,” concluded Langer.
