Head of Mercedes Motorsport Toto Wolff has summed up the results of the Japanese Grand Prix, which Lewis Hamilton celebrated the victory and managed to increase their lead in the overall standings of the season-2017 from Sebastian Vettel to 59 points.
Vettel out of the race in the opening race after his car had problems with the motor.
“It’s just unbelievable how unlucky Ferrari for the third race in a row, – said the wolf in a commentary for Sky Sports. – Should happen to one or two gatherings, and the situation in the championship is changing dramatically.
Of course, now employees of Ferrari are depressed. I’m in a good relationship with them and Maurizio [Arrivabene]. Perhaps these problems are part of the development team, because they have made a huge step forward in comparison with the year 2016. Now they have a very fast machine. But the car lacks reliability, and is the next step for them.
If we talk about Lewis, he held a spectacular race. I know that in the winter he analyzed everything that happened last year, and became a totally different person. Since then, he has worked on the bugs, and now we don’t see his weaknesses.”
